Seadrift Municipal Judge Janet Rosenboom

Janet Rosenboom of Port O’Connor has been appointed the new Municipal Court Judge for the City of Seadrift. Mayor Elmer DeForest introduced her at the City Council meeting which was held Tuesday, October 4, 2011. She, along with husband Karl, have lived in Port O’Connor part-time since 2001 and recently became full-time residents.

Future plans are to implement a new software system which will interact between the City of Seadrift and the State of Texas. This will help synchronize paperwork while further helping to develop and promote legal and professional activities affecting Municipal Courts which in fact, correspond with more defendants than any other Texas courts combined.

“I am excited to learn the ropes. Everyone is really nice and very patient,” Janet commented. “I have a learning course in December and multiple seminars lined up.”

People whom have held the position of Municipal Judge through-out the years in the City of Seadrift are: Christine A. Hood, Margaret Chatham and Charles Chatham. Margaret occupied the chair for nearly 23 years.
