Port O’Connor Kindergarten students are working very hard in Tommy Smith’s garden.
All plants are doing great. They have baby squash plants and Cody Branch found a tomato growing. It was small and green, but students were excited!
The experiment with the bell pepper plants show to this point that the paper pot doesn’t make much of a difference. All plants are within a few inches of each other.
Mr. Smith said that the potato plants needed to be in the ground for 50 days. They were planted on March 19th and the students can dig one up to see if it is ready on May 8th.
Students are learning so much about gardening and the terms gardeners use and are looking forward to eating the vegetables.
