Update on Port O Connor burglaries! Sheriff Aleman reported this week (April 1) that two persons have been arrested and incarcerated awaiting judicial process. Several others have warrants issued for them by the Sheriff’s Department and will be arrested for the series of burglaries in Port O Connor. Sheriff Aleman sends thanks to the citizens for their patience while his department has been investigating the crimes culminating in the arrests and warrants. More information will be posted to the portoconnorwatch.com website as it becomes available.

The portoconnorwatch.com formation meeting on the 23rd of March was a great success with many citizens joining the Watch effort. The web site will be the basis for our communications with all members and soon be operational. Donations have been received to purchase street signs for the “Watch” program and will be erected soon all around the community. Membership in portoconnorwatch.com is free as are watch decals for your home to those who join. Membership applications may be picked up at the Dolphin Talk office, 2232 Monroe.

portoconnorwatch.com was developed out of concern for the recent crime spree in POC. Our well attended meetings have created a renewed awareness within the county government that our community cares deeply about maintaining Port O’Connor as a great, safe place to live, one that is free of burglaries, home break-ins and related criminal activity.

Join the effort of watching out, reporting and being kept informed of suspicious activity in your neighborhood. We all want more Sheriff Patrol Deputies for Port O Connor and support that effort, however the eyes and ears of law abiding citizens reporting to the Sheriff’s Department has been proven tremendously effective in crime prevention, detection and conviction. Join your neighbors and sign up to WATCH! Membership is completely free and includes access to a website that will post all current information regarding criminal activity in our community. Be informed and be a good neighbor.
