After a long illness, Audrey Deane Marek, 61, of Port Lavaca has gone home to be with our Lord and Savior on July 10, 2013.

She is survived by her daughter Deanna Bumpurs and her husband Shane of Port Lavaca; her sons, Eddie Marek of Seadrift and Matthew Marek of Corpus Christi. She is also survived by her sisters Patricia Douglas of Seadrift and Cristal Brown of El Campo and her brother Russell White of Seadrift. She is also survived by her granddaughters Madalyn and Rebecca Bumpurs and grandson Levi Marek.

She is preceded by her father Arthur White and her mother Eula “Mimi” Milam White. She is also preceded by her maternal grandparents Lonnie and Alta Milam and her paternal grandparents Henry and Henrietta White.

Audrey has always had a great love for her whole family and enjoyed spending time with them. She enjoyed having get-togethers where she would cook amazing meals, take older family members to doctor appointments, shopping, crocheting clothes and decorations for family and friends, gardening, and in her younger days fishing, camping, hunting and arrowhead hunting. Audrey was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Seadrift and has peace in knowing her spirit will be at home with Christ.

A private family service and burial will be held at Seadrift Cemetery at a later date. Service arrangements are entrusted to Heritage Funeral Home.

Donations can be made in Audrey’s name to Hospice of South Texas or Port Lavaca Nursing and Rehab.
