It’s almost here – the biggest event of the year for the Chamber of Commerce. The annual Crawfish Festival raises the funds for improvements for the community. Without these funds there would not be a new pavilion and other improvements at King Fisher Park. Hoping you can make plans to attend this event on April 28th. By attending you will be involved in raising funds for the community.
If you haven’t been by King Fisher Beach, there’s a lot going on there. Years ago there was no beach across the front of town; there were concrete steps attached to the bulkhead leading down to the water. Then Mr. King Fisher offered to pump the sand his dredge was dredging up to the bulkhead.There were some that opposed this, but it was something that the wives and children could enjoy while the guys were out fishing. That was our first man-made beach. Now, every so often, it gets a face lift, and that’s how the beach was named King Fisher Beach. Hundreds enjoy this beach each year.
The 2018 memberships are slow coming in. If you have not mailed yours in, please do; you may also join online and pay online.
