Howdy my beloved community of Seadrift,

It has been my absolute pleasure to serve at the First United Methodist Church here in Seadrift for the last 4 years. While it has ultimately been a short time, we have gone through so much together; Harvey recovery, community choirs, vacation Bible schools, COVID, BayPraise services and the ecumenical spirit of our churches partnering together to share the grace and love of God with our community through mission and fellowship.

This whole town has welcomed me with open arms into the Seadrift family, and I could not have been more blessed. Especially as a pastor in his very first appointment, I will carry the memories of this town and its people and its story in my heart and ministry for the rest of my life. I could not be prouder that Seadrift is the place God has seen fit to develop my foundation in ministry.

The Methodist church has a tradition of generosity with the gifts of the Spirit of God (of which no pastor holds all) by sharing our pastors with different communities. And so, I have been called to another church. I will offer my final farewell to Seadrift June 12.

While I will be sad to leave a town that I have to come to love very deeply, and grown so much from, I am excited for the opportunities the Lord is developing up here in Seadrift for the pastor that will follow me, and I will carry some of the spirit of Seadrift into my next appointment, and share with them, the wonderful blessings this town has shared with me.

Thank you for such an amazing experience, God Bless you all, and may the peace of Jesus overflow from Seadrift. Bayrats? No… I call you Nazarats!!! And many good things most certainly come from here.

Peace,
Pastor Cody Logan
Seadrift United Methodist Church

Thank You!

Thanks to all who came out on May 16 and helped put the 7,000+ flags in the Tribute Field. This tribute to all KIA in Iraq and Afghanistan was all accomplished in two hours.
