The holidays are here, but we do have a few weeks left to make good on our New Year’s resolutions, if we hurry!! This Sunday, November 12, at 6:00 p.m., FBC hosted the POC Community Thanksgiving. FBC hopes you were able to join with the home folks and visitors who attend each year. The THANKSGIVING message was given this year by Father Tommy from St. Joseph Catholic Church and Fisherman’s Chapel and FBC also took part in the service. Afterwards, everyone enjoyed a thankful fellowship meal together. If you have never experienced this POC tradition, save the second Sunday in November, 2024, and plan to be in town to attend. God is good and we all have so many things to thank Him for.

The FBC Christmas Music Program telling the story of Christ’s birth in music and song will be presented on December 17,2023 at 11:00 a.m.

Our Samaritan’s Purse Christmas Child Shoe Box Ministry is at an end for 2023. (See related article by Tanya De Forest elsewhere in the Dolphin Talk) On Sunday, November 19, all 267 filled boxes will be stacked in our sanctuary to be prayed over and blessed. These boxes will be shipped all over the world with millions of others and distributed to needy children. We pray that each child who receives a box will come to know God as their personal savior. This has become an important outreach for FBC and we thank all who have become a part of it over these last years for donating time, money and items so that this important project can continue.

TEAM KIDS continues to serve 25 to 30 POC children and youth each week. They get a filling meal, recreation and, most importantly, Bible study every Wednesday starting at 5:30 p.m. If you know of any child between first grade and twelfth grade who would like to join in, please call FBC at 361-983-2727 for more information.

Our men’s (6:00 p.m.) and women’s (4:00 p.m.) Bible study groups continue to meet each Tuesday in the FBC Fellowship Hall. Newcomers are welcome at anytime. Just show up and start studying and discussing with the group. If you are just starting your walk with JESUS or have been at it for a while, please come, continue your journey with us. No appointment necessary!

Remember, we are always waiting with open arms to welcome you at FBC. Our extraordinary greeter, Evelyn Kitchens, stands at the front door with a smiling face and a hug for all who enter. Come be part of an amazing fellowship experience each Sunday morning (11:00) and evening (6:00) as our Pastor Rich Schaller, teaches God’s word and our Youth Minister/Choir Director Raymond Grant, leads us in song and presents the children’s sermon. We also have a Prayer Service on Thursday at 6:00 p.m as well as the opportunities already mentioned. Come join us!
